The Shrubbery Hotel
 

The Shrubbery Hotel is located in the centre of Shepton mallet, in the heart of Somerset.  Whether you are taking a well earned break or on business, The Shrubbery Hotel offers a warm and relaxed atmosphere and is much sought after by those wishing to enjoy the comforts and ambience of the English countryside.

The Shrubbery Hotel was initially built in the 1700s. It was first called Hope Cottage. Over the years, the building has been extended. and has served as a Rectory in the early 1800s and a local doctor's surgery in the 1930s, by Dr Alexander Finch.  It was converted to a Hotel circa 1950, with eight individually styled bedrooms.  The Hotel also offers a restaurant or bar for you to enjoy a home-cooked meal or relax with a drink. 

Our garden offers a place to sit and relax and enjoy a drink whilst letting the world go by.   The Shrubbery Hotel is perect for a stay as you enjoy the local attractions in Mendip and Somerset.

At The Shrubbery Hotel, guests are bound to have a stress-free stay. Keep up with all your communications easily with the hotel's free Wi-Fi. Guests can enjoy free parking right at the hotel. Front desk service is provided at the hotel.

We are an independently run, family hotel. That took over this establishment in May 2023

We aim to upgrade the rooms one by one. Take away the carpets in the bathroom. Get USB sockets on either side of the bed and new furniture.  We have replaced some furniture and changed the lighting in some of the rooms. 

This all takes time and money to restore this beautiful building.
